nextstep
nextstep is a free careers advice service for adults:
- aged 20 or more
- aged 18 or 19, who have been referred to nextstep by Jobcentre Plus
nextstep advisers can offer information, advice and support to help you find work or move on in your career. Our experienced advisers can also help you find the best training, learn new skills and the most suitable jobs.
LSC
The LSC exists to make England better skilled and more competitive. We have a single goal:
to improve the skills of England's young people and adults to make sure we have a workforce that is of world-class standards.
Association of North East Councils
The Association of North East Councils is the political voice and representative body for local government in the North East. It encompasses all local authorities in the region, throughout Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, Durham and the Tees Valley on issues of concern to them and the communities they serve.
It is a cross-party organisation, with all of its Members democratically elected and accountable politicians.
TUC
Unionlearn, the TUC’s learning and skills organisation exists to spread the lifelong learning to even more members and colleagues in workplaces across the region and the country.
One North East
One North East is the Regional Development Agency (RDA) covering North East England - Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham and Tees Valley. The Agency aims to help the people of the North East create and sustain jobs, prosperity and a higher quality of life.
Our vision is a vibrant, self reliant, ambitious and outward looking region promoting the benefits of living, working and doing business here. The Agency is responsible to the people of the North East and to the Government.

Based in the centre of Newcastle in Citygate, we represent eleven central government departments across the entire region.
We work to deliver, influence and develop government programmes and initiatives at a regional and local level, by working in partnership with relevant organisations to meet local needs.
